Student excursion
Weg (path) – as a bridge or a tunnel – and Dorf (village) – a house, a shelter – are founding elements of Swiss constructive, economic and political culture. We walk to shorten a distance, we stay to lengthen it. Seven bridges by Jürg Conzett punctuate the Flimser Wasserweg, functionally performing as a Weg and symbolically acting as a cornerstone to a Dorf. The students’ brief was to design spaces to experience time as if exploding a Dorf and isolating and spreading its activities along the Wasserweg. Devices to spend time, to expand size, perception, and meaning of space.
